The occasion for the visit of the Bavarian Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology was a dialogue with CEO Andreas Müller about the outstandingly sustainable and nearly energy self-sufficient factory currently under construction in Unterallgäu. The new Green Factory 2.0 of the Alois Müller Group has a 10,000 m² photovoltaic system with a total output of 1.1 MW. It supplies the new 18,000 m² office and production building with 90 percent of the energy needed for electricity, refrigeration, heat and compressed air. The last ten percent is covered by a combined heat and power (CHP) plant. This brings the energy costs and CO2 emissions down to zero.
The Alois Müller Group relies on sustainable solutions in the area of mobility, just as it does in the area of energy.
On the premises in Ungerhausen, a total of 10 charging points with up to 150 kW for electric vehicles have been installed – all freely available. This means that an electric vehicle battery can be recharged within 20 minutes. The charging stations get their energy from the company’s own photovoltaic system – which means they are CO2-neutral in two respects. “Electric mobility is an important concept for the future. “The electric charging stations are in the immediate vicinity of the A96 motorway, which makes them a convenient option for all electric car drivers travelling on the motorway between Munich and Lindau,” says Minister Pschierer.
“Over the long term, we want to change our entire fleet over to electric vehicles. We are already laying the necessary groundwork for this step in Ungerhausen,” Müller explains.
