Visit to Ziegelstadel – Connections also for existing buildings

“The project combines the aspect of ecology and local heat supply in a completely new way,” said Lord Mayor Manfred Schilder.
A district heating network for a development area is currently under construction in the Dickenreishausen district of Memmingen. The network is supplied by an existing biogas plant with a CHP system that has a thermal output of approx. 450 kW. The waste heat supplies a development area with 25 building connections; an advance extension for connecting existing buildings is also planned. The overall heat generation capacity is designed both for the existing area and for a second development area under construction. To ensure the reliability of supply, a wood chip boiler was also retrofitted.
The biogas plant with the CHP system is located to the north, just outside Dickenreishausen. From there, a district heat line is planned to the transfer station and peak-load boiler. Dickenreishausen will then receive its heat from the transfer station.
