Another connection: e-con AG’s heating plant and district heating network ensure sustainable and climate-friendly heat supply at Buzil
For more than a decade, the Memmingen heating plant has been generating heat from regional biomass for more than ten companies in the Memmingen Nord industrial park, including Dachser SE, Goldhofer AG and Pfeifer Holding GmbH & Co. KG. As a company committed to sustainability, Buzil, a manufacturer of cleaning products, now also relies on the district heating supply and the energy concept of e-con AG. With immediate effect, the entire site with an area of around 13,000 square meters in Fraunhoferstraße will be supplied with sustainable and climate-friendly heat. The Buzil company thus covers its entire heating requirements via climate-friendly heat.
” The renewable district heating supply from e-con AG saves us around 440 tons of CO2 per year compared to a conventional energy supply and also optimizes our energy costs,” says Buzil Managing Director Isabell Janoth, demonstrating the high priority that sustainability has in her company. “Sustainability is part of the family tradition at Buzil. This is the foundation of our deep-rooted endeavor to reconcile ecology and economy in the best possible way. In addition to environmentally friendly product lines and certifications, climate-friendly heat supply is another building block in our sustainability strategy.”
There are many advantages for companies that connect to a sustainable and regionally oriented local heating network. Those connecting no longer have to worry about fuel procurement, boiler maintenance, chimney cleaning or environmental protection requirements. The installation of their own heating system becomes superfluous. There is no need for advance financing of fuels, and local heating is stable in price. Experience shows that fluctuations on the energy market have only a minor effect.
The heart of the heat supply in Memmingen’s industrial area is the e-con AG heating plant. It has an output of around 17 megawatts. The central component of the energy supply is the 3.3 megawatt woodchip boiler, which covers most of the total heat demand from the renewable fuel wood. Consumption peaks are covered by two peak load boilers using redundant gas and oil firing. In addition, electricity for the heating plant is generated by a highly efficient combined heat and power plant. “This means that security of supply for the connected companies is always guaranteed. What’s more, an expansion of the local heating network and thus the supply of additional companies in the Memmingen North industrial area is possible at any time. The concept of regional added value, secure heat supply and affordable prices is a complete success here, regardless of the current global political situation,” explains Peter Waizenegger, CEO of e-con AG.
As a specialist for energy consulting and contracting, e-con AG develops resource-saving and sustainable energy concepts that are individually adapted to local requirements. The focus is on heating and cooling with renewable energies.
