Airport Energie Management GmbH is 300th partner in the Hydrogen Alliance of Bavaria
We are pleased to join Airport Energie Management GmbH as the 300th partner in the Hydrogen Alliance of Bavaria.
Airport Energie Management GmbH was founded in 2017 as a subsidiary of Memmingen Airport and E-con AG. The goal of this foundation is to make the airport completely CO2 free by 2030.
Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger and Stefan Dürr, Head of Technology and Innovation at H2.B, presented the official membership certificate to Peter Waizenegger, CEO of Airport Energie Management GmbH in Memmingen, and to Ralf Schmid, Managing Director of Memmingen Airport, in Munich.
With more than 300 partners, the Hydrogen Alliance is now the largest government-initiated hydrogen stakeholder network in Germany. The continuously increasing growth shows above all the impressive importance of the hydrogen economy among Bavarian companies.
Hydrogen will not only play an important role in the aviation sector as a fuel in liquid form or in the form of e-kerosene, it also has many applications on the tarmac and in energy supply.
For Ralf Schmid (Managing Director of Memmingen Airport), joining is a logical step on the long road to decarbonization in his industry. Peter Waizenegger (CEO of E-con AG) emphasized at the award ceremony that green hydrogen is an important energy carrier in the application to reduce greenhouse emissions in commercial transport, as well as in aviation, which can be produced and stored decentrally at the site on the basis of renewable energies.
